Details about this tour

Hop aboard your coach at your central Belfast hotel, and travel along the scenic Causeway Coastal Route. As you travel north, your guide will talk to you about the popular Game of Thrones TV series, adapted from George Martins A Song of Ice and Fire novels.

Stop in the town of Cushendun and walk to the caves where Melisandre of Asshai gave birth to her shadow baby who went on to slay Renly Baratheon. Hear tales of the power struggles, battles and trysts between the noble families of Westeros, and learn all about the exploits of King Joffrey Baratheon.

Travel by coach to Ballycastle to see where Varys was born as a slave in the Free Cities, and after stretching your legs on a stroll, travel to the Dark Hedges road. With its natural archway of intertwined trees, the road is one of Northern Irelands most photographed locations and the place where Arya Stark dressed as a boy to escape from Kings Landing. Pose for pictures, and then continue your journey north.

The next destination is larrybane Quarry right next to the famous Carrick-a-rede rope bridge an iconic crossing that connects the mainland to Carrick-a-Rede Island. While not used in Game of Thrones, the bridge is framed by magnificent headland that provided a backdrop for several scenes. After a quick photo stop, continue to the fishing village of Ballintoy for lunch (own expense), and then travel to the UNESCO-listed Giants Causeway,

While the location hasnt been used in Game of Thrones, the site is the Causeway Coasts showpiece, and its well worth visiting while in the area. Walk around admiring the hexagonal rock columns and gaze out at the crashing waves along the dramatic coastline.

Board your coach and travel back to Belfast, your tour then finishes in the early evening in the center of Belfast.

There were a lot of things to see on this trip. My primary focus was Giant's Causeway, and I thought that the sites from Game of Thrones looked like the most interesting to pair with the Causeway. (There are other trips where you can see other places.) I have never watched GOT, but the places were very pretty and worth seeing. The estimated time back to Belfast was 6pm, but it was closer to 7:30 by the time we got back. I felt like I'd been gone a few days since we'd done so much, which isn't a bad thing.
I knocked the rating to 4 instead of 5 for two reasons. First, Giant's Causeway was amazing, but very crowded. It is worth seeing, but maybe when fewer people are there. Second, there is A LOT of walking to do. At least 15 minutes each way to 4 different sites and the last one - the bridge - is very hilly with a few flights of very steep steps. I basically don't mind, but a little forewarning would have been nice - especially on a day where it rains off and on. (Or is that every day in Ireland?)

The tour was awesome! Couldn't of asked for a better driver/guide. Derek did a wonderful job. I wish every tour I went on had as good of a guide as he was.

Considered hiring a car but chose the coach trip. Good decision!
The driver / host Troy was very entertaining and had good knowledge of the trip and history.
    Wouldn't hesitate to recommend

We had an absolute blast on this trip! I would highly recommend this tour even if you aren't a big Game of Thrones fan. We got to visit a lot of beautiful places without feeling too rushed and our guide, Phil, was a delight to be around.

Well where do I start...we got on the bus and from there on in we were transported into the world of Derek (aka Dave) and his GoT opinions and observations and insights. The man was a fountain of knowledge and this literally started from the minute you GoT (excuse the pun!) on the tour bus . We were transported to thee "steps" the dark hedges, quick stop for lunch, the iron islands, then on to Giants Causeway and afterwards the rope bridge. Just to say you do need to be at least some sort of walking shape to make the treks to all these places, otherwise you will end up like a nightwalker! Overall it was a good tour, with tonnes packed in...we were absolutley exhausted at the end of it.

A very enjoyable tour of the Giant's causeway and the Game of Thrones location which was enhanced by Derek TT he coach driver's wit and wisdom.

Dereck was an awesome tour guide. He was funny and educational. It’s a wonderful way to visit Northern Ireland as well as geek out on some Game of Thrones knowledge. I would recommend not only the tour but Dereck.

This tour was one of a kind! We got to see so many beautiful places mixed in with some Game Of Thrones scenery that was just stunning. Our guide Derrick was hilarious and super accommodating. We had the best day. Be prepared for a lot of walking and always pack a rain jacket!

The tour was brilliant. Thanks to our driver Derek, it was both very interesting and hilarious. The sites on the tour are absolutely beautiful and I like the fact that you do not have to be a fan of GoT to appreciate what you see. My friend who is not a fan loved it too!
