Your full-day tour starts with hotel pickup from your hotel in Mendoza. Meet your guide and board a vehicle to head to the starting point of the trek. On the way Aconcagua National Park, you will first enjoy a mountain tour through all the small villages of the central Andes between Mendoza and Chile.

We arrive at the park and we will start the trek to Confluencia, the first Base Camp from which expeditions usually start to go the summit of Mt Aconcagua. After a briefing, it is time to start a 6-hour hike of moderate difficulty. You will enjoy unique and amazing views as you climb up. It is a perfect place to see the Andes and enjoy nature.

During the trek, you will have time to stop for a box lunch and continue on to the base camp and end point of the highest mountain in the South American continent. This trek will give you unique views of the summit of Mt Aconcagua and its south face.

    This was the highlight of our trip!
    Herman was a great guide... we were delayed getting to the mountain accident on the road and then police guided the cars to the Chile border, so slower than usual but the mountains are amazing and so gorgeous to look at.

    We started late up the mountain - but the weather was great - did not even need a jacket! Saw Aconcagua the entire trek. It started out easy... just slight upward climbing and the adjustment to the altitude was okay... but as you climb upward, the altitude makes you have to stop and breathe more than usual. We stopped for lunch right after the bridge... and trekked on... and made it up to the camp! What an accomplishment..

    However, we could not enjoy it because of being late, we had to immediately trek down - did that fast because you have to be down by 6PM... amazing time... and so memorable.

    You have to be fit and aware of the altitude issues before taking this trip for sure.

    The climb to base camp is not, in itself, a tough climb. However, breathing while doing so is a different story. This wasn't unexpected, but is interesting to experience, slowly ambling uphill in aerobic distress.
    We were not blessed with the best weather for it, in terms of views of Aconcagua itself, but that is the lottery with any such activity. Our guide Rocie was helpful and attentive and a pleasure to be with, and very informative. All in all, a good day out, and a good step towards fitness for later climbs on our overall trip.
